A recovery fall arrest device has all the facilities of a standard fall arrest device. In addition, it has a winding mechanism to aid the lowering and raising of a worker from a confined space. It also protects the user from falls during entry or egress whilst using a ladder or step irons. The recovery fall arrest device is suitable for normal access and for emergency retrieval and may be used at height.

In event of a fall, it is possible to recover the worker by engaging the recovery mechanism and raising or lowering the worker to safety. Used in conjunction with the Tripod, this device provides a portable access and rescue system for confined spaces. If the recovery mechanism is disengaged whilst a recovery is taking place, the arrest brake will engage, holding the worker suspended.
